Save the GPO

The Dublin regime has set its sights on the GPO, where PH Pearse and James Connolly made their historic last stand against the globalist forces of the British Empire. They stood and fought to hold that land - can we do any less?

We the undersigned demand that the Dublin regime withdraw any plans to commercialise the GPO, and show some respect for its important position in Irish history and in the founding of our nation.

Thoughtful, application, observation, fossil, interference, which word ends with an "e"?

Please leave this alone its for the irish people to decide notgoverment

Shopping centres are not need in a community when so much is done online now.
A central heart for Dublin to showcase the history of the land, to bring our history alive, a cafe/ bar and an arts centre would be amazing.

As a proud Irish person from Belfast, the North, I care deeply about the GPO in Dublin and believe it's crucial to sign this petition to save it. It's a special place that holds a lot of meaning for Irish people everywhere, North and South.

That building IS Irelands history, you are desiccrating the heroes who gave their lives for Ireland.
Money talks, how many brown envelopes are being passed around, you're not Irish, you're a disgrace

We need to preserve our very important history and historical buildings . They represented our freedom and natuonality. As a person who lives in the North of Ireland especially our Irish nationality has been hard earned ☘️

No commercialisation of the GPO.

Disgraceful approach to an irreplaceable and central part of Irish history. Money over honour.

Can’t believe this is even being considered.

They can't take away our heritage

This is an absolute disgrace that is even being thought

Leave our heritage alone its not for sale or privatisation

The General Post Office should be kept as a memory and sign of the War of Independence as long as possible.

How dare they want to turn the GPO into another shopping cesspool

The GPO should never be commercialised but instead should become a cultural museum for Ireland.

I will not stand by the deletion of irish history by the irish nation to make way for a new multicultural world which deletes the irish people's rights over the land if ireland, we are not mongerals, we are irish and proud to delete our history and the rights to our land ireland.

This is very much a major part of our history and must be preserved at all costs keep your hands of our heritage

Irish history end of

The GPO is a unique possession of the Irish nation and ought not be employed as a tool for profit.

The disregard that the government has for our national heritage is absolutely disgusting.

Historical buildings must always be preserved over profit.

No more disrespect of our history and heritage!

Save our heritage . This treasure is priceless and should remain for all not just for those who can afford an apartment. It's one of our national treasures.

Preserving the essence of the GPO and its history. Is remembering and respecting our Irish men and women who fought for our freedom. We should never forget what they sacrificed for us. We should not let this current invasion take away our history, our culture or our beliefs.

It’s disgraceful that this was even proposed in the first place, this government is an embarrassment to its country and people, the sooner the better their all out of power !!! their trying their hardest to rip the souls out of Ireland.

This is an attack on the memory of all those that fought for Irish freedom, the memory should be protected from this and remain as it is

An tír ar straw, gan aon amhras ar bith

Get your globalist hands off of our heritage.

How dare this so called government try to ruin the Gpo shame on them

Respect what this Building stands for

Whatever it takes this building must be preserved for future generations, so they know the sacrifices that were
made so they could be free

Thats the Irish people's building and it should only be used as a place of respect almost like a church where we go and pay our respects and remember the heroes and our history.

Save the GPO

This corrupt government needs to be removed before they do any more damage to our country.

Seriously. Is anything sacred.

The gpo is a part of Irish history and a memorial to those who fought and died for Irish freedom,it would be a disgrace to use it for any other purpose

This is the foundation of our Nation and those brave men who died inside and after capture

Save our historical buildings

Éirinn go brách

It's a historic site it belongs to the Irish people hands off

Hands off the GPO! Our history is that building. You wouldn't deface a celtic relic if you found it. It's like the 7 wonders of the world to us Irish!!!

An Claíomh Solais means "The Sword of Light", and is named after an Irish newspaper originally published around the beginning of the twentieth century. This project is opening a window to that time, not so long ago, and sharing the hopes, dreams and visions of the men and women who founded the modern Irish Republic.

The project will follow in their footsteps along the path laid down by Hyde, O'Conaire, MacNeill, Cusack and many others through sharing news, ideas, articles of Irish cultural interest and more, as well as helping to support Irish language and cultural initiatives. You can find out more about An Claíomh Solais by clicking on the buttons below, or join our team as we begin the great Gaelic restoration!

A New Voice For Ireland

Her uncompromising voice offers a clear challenge to the establishment and a great example for us all to follow.

Ciara very kindly took the time to join us in an online interview, which we are delighted to publish here.

ACS: What made you decide to get involved with the Irish Ireland cause, was there one particular event or was it more of a process?

The last address of Thomas MacDonagh

There is not much left to say. The Proclamation of the Irish Republic has been adduced in evidence against me as one of the Signatories. I adhere to every statement in the Proclamation. You think it already a dead and buried letter, but it lives, it lives. From minds alight with Ireland’s vivid intellect it sprang; in hearts aflame with Ireland’s mighty love it was conceived. Such documents do not die.

The British occupation of Ireland has never for more than one hundred years been compelled to confront in the field of fight a Rising so formidable as that which overwhe

From A Hermitage - DECEMBER 1913

I was once stranded on a desert island with a single companion. When two people are stranded on a desert island they naturally converse. We conversed. We sat on a stony beach and talked for hours. When we had exhausted all the unimportant subjects either of us could think of, we commenced to talk about important subjects. (I have observed that even on a desert island it is not considered good form to talk of important things while unimportant things remain to be discussed.)

We had very different points of views, and very different temperaments. I was a boy; my companion was

On Emigration

From An Claidheamh Soluis, July 18, 1903.

In a letter to the Freeman’s Journal of Friday last, the Hon. Secretary of the Anti-Emigration Society directs attention to the grim figures revealed by the latest emigration returns issued by the Board of Trade.

‘They show,’ she writes, ‘that 23,401 Irish emigrants left the United Kingdom in the first six months of the current year as against 20,610 in the corresponding period of 1902, and that the outflow has therefore increased by 2,791 for the half year. Over two thousand of this incr
